Procurement process - update
The coming Board of Aarhus Light Rail will address the procurement strategy and the revised time schedule for the procurement process in June 2012.

Procurement material postponed
Due to fact that the final adoption of the Aarhus Light Rail Act (L77) in the Danish Parliament was postponed until May 8th 2012, the procurement material will not be published in April as expected.
A revised time schedule awaits approval by the coming board of Aarhus Letbane I/S. The members of the Aarhus Light Rail Board are appointed by the owners, the State, the Central Denmark Region and the Municipality of Aarhus and by the regional transportation company, Midttrafik.

Aarhus Light Rail Act expected in April 2012
The Danish Parliament is expected to adopt the Aarhus Light Rail Act (L77) on April 10th 2012. The time schedule for the adoption of the law has just been published. This states that the second treatment of the Bill takes place in the Danish Parliament on March 27th 2012 and the third treatment takes place on April 10th 2012. The Aarhus Light Rail Act allows the founding of a new company called Aarhus Letbane I/S, which will be responsible for the construction of the Aarhus Light Rail.

Minutes of meetings February 2012
Around 100 people attended one of the two information meetings about the prequalification and tender proces for the establishment of Aarhus Light Rail.
At the meetings, the following themes were introduced:
- Presentation of Aarhus Light Rail including background and phase 1 of the project by Ole Sørensen, Head of Aarhus Light Rail Secretariat
- Introduction to the project structure, preliminary work and interfaces by Morten Springdorf, Senior Project Manager at Aarhus Light Rail Secretariat
- Introduction to the tender strategy and overall time schedule by Bent Bertil Jacobsen, Project Director, COWI
After the presentations, the attendants had time for questions and answers and, especially in Copenhagen, the interest was high.

Procurement materials are now published
The Aarhus Light Rail Transport Secretariat has now published further information on the various procurement for the establishment of the Aarhus Light Rail Transit System. The Tender Strategy is published subject to the final political approval of the law on Aarhus Letbane in the Danish Parliament.

Procurement material postponed
The Aarhus Light Rail Transport Secretariat has published information on the various procurement for establishment of the Aarhus Light Rail Transit System. The information published comprises tendering packages on civil works, transport system and rolling stock respectively, which will be procured during 2012/2013.
Further information on the procurement process was planned to be published online here 5 February 2012. Unfortunately the Aarhus Light Rail Transport Secretariat must inform that the procurement materials are postponed due to delay in final review.
Please be attentive to this homepage. Procurement information will be published as soon as possible.
The information conferences in Copenhagen and Aarhus on February 21st and 22nd of February 2012 respectively are progressing as planned.
