In Midttrafik a secretariat for development has been established. And in cooperation with the involved parties the secretariat is working on the realization of the vision. The secretariat is supported by the involved municipalities and Central Denmark Region, all contributing to the expenses in the secretariat and expenses for the preliminary analysis and preparations together with the State according to the budget agreed between the parties of the cooperation.

The Lightrail Transit Secretariat has been established as a development office with Midttrafik in the southern part of Aarhus. The development office is classified as an independent team, based within the traffic planning department of Midttrafik. The head of the secretariat refers to the chairman of the steering committee.

The Central Denmark Region, the Municipality of Aarhus and Midttrafik each appoint representatives for the project group responsible for the current cooperation with development office and with its own organization. The other parties within the cooperation (the municipalities of Odder, Favrskov, Syddjurs, Norddjurs, Silkeborg, Skanderborg and Randers) can appoint representatives for the project group. The Public Transport Authority is also invited to participate in the project group.

The Lightrail Transit Secretariat represents the chairmanship of the project group.
