Bus prioritizing

The first stage of the light rail track is a long-term solution, which cannot be expected to be completed for another 10 years. However, it is already now possible to prepare for the LRT in a way that enables the public transport to profit from the investments. By obtaining the necessary space it will allow for the establishment of bus lanes along Nørrebrogade-Randersvej, and by a later conversion this can be transformed into LRT tracks.

Today Nørrebrogade-Randersvej already suffers from congestion, especially during rush hours. It is predictable that these problems will increase considerably during the coming years when the new Søften-Skødstrup motorway opens, and in connection with the planned large extension of the Lisbjerg area. The establishment of bus lanes and separation of the individual and the public transport will improve conditions for both public and individual transport.
